well another lockdown not that the first one made much difference to me but I feels like we are going round in circles .

Most bulbs have sold out at GC I visit which could be cause more people are doing gardening cause of corona or GC aren't buying as much stock, I normally see quite a lot of bulbs left around beginning of November. I am still waiting for Farmer gracy to put out a proper sale they haven't suckered me in yet .

It is a striking pink salvia do you know the name ? I have a few Phylis fancy still flowering away in the garden.

Watched C5 catch up on Fred and Rose West, and today, there is a very sad article, detailing another of their victim.

*******************************

Strange enough. Clockhouse had got the most of bulbs. I had photos of them and yet all of them had gone. Only 3 crates at the front with tiny Gigantea bulbs, unwanted because they were Miniscu-tea and they were all singly wrapped up in a £2.49 labelled bag. When I looked at the size, I wished I had bought those in Blue Diamond. Bonnett and BDiamond still had quite a lot of bulbs left.

Went out as the weather was so good.

Cirsium Atropurpureum is still very happy. No staking required. I really love the taller white one.

I really love the originality. Hanging your tree upside down will certainly draw your focus onto the presents. For kids, it's bliss!

11 am, as if on cue , it rained and after our meal, it poured on the motorway and son said he felt the poor traction of ther wheels and that it cost him more petrol.

I wish I knew the names of the salvias - there were such a lot and yet labels were missing. Pink and red/more like piercing red and no names. One very small one which looked like fuchsia. I like Leucantha most. I loved the piercing blue one and the stonking red! Ah, I don't know how to describe the colours. Just thank heavens that I can appreciate the lovely and unique colour.

Shame that all the gardening programmes are no more. But I watched these last night and it was so good.

Its rained all weekend but I did mange to empty one of the barrels before I got drenched . The ensete maurlii is now upside in the GH draining along with a colocosia which I potted up , also lifted the begonia santa cruz I've grown from seed this year can't believe how large the tubers are already they are drying out in the GH . I reckon we may have a hard enough frost this week to knock out the dahlias so I can lift them , I could do it now but the frost will send them into dominancy.

Frost?? No, not yet, please?

Did anyone watch Friday's episode. A man from Harlow Carr showcased an Ashwood hybrid - a totally black one with even dark shiny motifs on the petals. Very striking. But you really have to get close and personal to appreciate the shiny bits on the petals.

Doesn't look so bad! But obviously colder than it looks because of wind directions?

Yes, it rained and rained and I think how bad it can be for both of you up north! I remember when we were in Cumbria - it was nothing but rainy weather and the grey indigenous stones just didn't help. If I lived there, I would painted it pink, light blue, or green. Anything but not grey! How miserable and depressing.

I did do quite a bit of cuttings of Fancy Pants the seed pods of which should have been left to dry. I feel like kicking myself. I have one seed pod which can be dried. I also take cuttins with Pooh, the orangy collarette. I love the bluish one, but I haven't seen any more flowers. I need to go to the allotment to take some Rejman's Firecracker cuttings. My only one got me £1. I wish I hadn't done it. Any way, I told the woman I wouldn't be selling her any more.

I think the strawberries are edible too.

Lovely young tree. Difficult to get specialist tree and when you find it, it costs you an arm and a leg. Also, trees are so tall and their roots go everywhere. I am dithering about where to put them. The last thing I want is to have subsidence because of huge tree roots. When I saw Chris Beardshaw planting his fruit trees in his newly acquired allotment, I could understand why.

Did a lot of cuttings. You know when you have some, what I call, interesting or rareR plants and people say to you they like your Salvia hot lips, you heart sink; however, since I have 4 people saying that they love it, I just took tons of cuttings. Also, I didn't want people asking me to "give me just this much of your plant", so I removed all the branches and did tons of cuttings. The cuttings might help me buy some Leucantha, or even Arbutus andrachnoides. I am seriously eyeing up a Wedding tree for £30.

The winds have calmed down. Yesterday, my son's frame which measured nearly 12 feet by 4 was blown over neightbour's hedge. It was hilarious. Thank heavens he had lawn, hedge and path and no flowers or pots there.

Myrtle's Folly is my favorite as it has everything, fimbriated, split end antler petals, tons of petals and the colours are just superb - yellow, gold, reddish orange ..

Oh, dear! Election results can drag on!

@alp, I like the arrangement of the white Cate au Lait Dahlia.

Cafe au Lait is called Wedding flower, but it's more beige than white. It's a good cropper. I have had several flowers on the word go. I started them rather late and I was surrpised that I have only one. Would have thought it was pure sparkling white, like the white in this

Glorious weather and the wind gust is about 10. Crikey, if I had my greenhouse done, the glass panes would have smashed like hell.

Floodings in other parts of the country. I hope they will have at least 2 days to recover from the horrific excess of water. Yesterday was the only day I could walk safely on my clay garden. Feel like asking a tree surgeon to dump a lorry load of bark chips onto my lawn. I need to raise my lawn by 4 inches.

Yesterday, I nearly had an accident catching one hen. 5 out of 7 chickens were inside the coop whilst 2 were out. I saw the lame one that I called Leni as it sounds similar to lamey! She ran and ran and I was frustrated as I couldn't imagine I couldn't outrun the poor hen. In the end, my mealworms won the day.

What was to follow was tormenting: This hen never wanted to free range, just like Randy Rooster! The two would stay inside the two coops and Randy Rooster would make noise for food and yet more food! Yesterday, for some reason, this hen actually came out. When I tried to return them to the coop, I nearly fell over trying to prevent this one going next door where I would lose control and where the foxes had been sighted, together with her cubs. Finally, I barricaded the exit and got her inside. What a nightmare! It never wanted to come out and it didn't want to go in. It made a racket when I tried to catch her. The noise was disturbing to those inside the coop as they echoed her din!

I read that Trump supporters ... where (in one of the states where result was still uncertain) they argued that the pens in the count had been changed to Sharpies before being kicked out. Good day for Sharpies .. I know what it means when I see my labels with no trace of words ..

***********************

Yesterday was one of the loveliest days - sunshine from the word go and even though it's cold and some water froze at the top, the warmth shining straight into the greenhouse more than made up for the crispiness and cold in the morning. Helper came and finally less than half of the glass panes are now up. I have to say, no amount of money is enough for his help. I gave him so far £20 and this is just to show some people can be very nice. Don't get me wrong - we're just friends. It's just that he has had the experience of being helped erecting his 3 greenhouses and he is now returning the feelgood feeling. A friend in need is a friend indeed. This greenhouse is so old that some of the glass panes have different widths and the front panel glass panes taper upward. Also some glass panes are missing and broken and there is always a bit of gap or that the panes could be a tad too big. A lot of configurations and mind juggling needed. I am so pleased that he has helped us.

Bought this Salvia Involucrata from Beeches in Saffron Walden and the man said, put it somewhere shady. I thought it a strange suggestion. Salvias are supposed to love sun and heat. Why in a shady area? The stupidity of me followed his advice and now suddenly, it flowered. Way too late as all the neighbouring dahlias had been stewed last night. When I dug them up, there were about 6 of them. Only 2 had flowered. One Obsidian black and one Toto yellow.

Always nervous taking picture of magenta, pink or red. But not bad considering the light wasn't that strong. It's an uplifting feeling that there are flowers showing up at this time of the year.

One or 2 more days of lovely sunshine. Enjoy, folks! The high visibility is just uplifting - little pleasures in life that is free and wonderful!

Went to Waitrose to get some organic flour and there was only the horrible and expensive Duchy. Got 3 to plug the gap and hopefully, we can get some from Morrison or even big Asda. The visibility was very low and of course the road to Upminster town centre was choc-a-bloc. After that, went to lIdl to stock up 5 x 2 Rump steak for £4 and 3 little chicken for £2.49 each and got a pound off Lidl digital card. 5 bags of Cheetos flamin' hot and by the end of the day, 4 little packets and a packet of Ferrero rocha of 8 all unaccounted. Oh, dear!

Very pleased with these two cameras

Great day for laundry. Didn't do much. By 3pm, I coughed and sneezed. A total of 6 paracetamols hopefully have helped me see off the cold. I felt my head a bit confused on Tuesday, 2 para and then OK Wednesday, but yesterday, I was under sieged again.

Hopefully, we will know who the US President is by the end of the day.

Have a lovely dry day, every one!

Well surprisingly it hasn't froze over the past few day , we have had a lot of low clouds / fog which is more a less rain here , its been a nice day today and Wednesday was good. I am getting a bit restless with the dahlias they are hogging the pots which I want to plant up for winter displays , I may start lifting them this weekend .

Driving me round the bend the news on about the US election its relentless , frankly its shameful how trump is reacting about losing the election and doesn't put America in a good light around the world , can't be lecturing other countries about a democracy / votes when its own president doesn't respect its own .

still waiting for farmer gracy to offer sales at something I cant refuse. I'll have a look at avon now .

You haven't got covid alp ? one of my neighbour have got it and my sister had a positive result yesterday but she not convinced so going for another test.
