What is causing these little brown spots and what to do about them? Probably my brown thumb.
I am the worst at growing vegetables and tomatoes are my nemesis. Otherwise the plants seem very
healthy with dark green leaves. Loaded with still green tomatoes. Can anyone help. Thanks to
those of you who take the time to read my post and double thanks to those who answer with a
remedy.

We really need to see the spots clearly and the picture is out of focus. Are the spots just on the lower leaves or are they over the entire plant? If just on the lower portion of the plant it is Early Blight. If the spots are all over the plant it is either Fungal Leaf Spot or Bacterial Leaf Spot.

The spots are mostly middle and lower part of the plant. . Maybe 10% or even less have the small brown spots. . I hope this new picture helps. . I know what to use for the fungus related. What if it is the bacterial related. Amazon can have it here tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

It looks to me to be early stage Early Blight. If the leaves start to turn yellow it is EB. What I do for EB is to remove all limbs about a foot from soil level. If you haven't already add mulch around the base of the plant out to the drip line. I remove any affected leaves above that point. No overhead watering. I have yet to find any fungicide that works good. You will not be able to cure the disease but you will be able to have a full harvest. It is almost too hot now for anymore fruit set but you will be able to grow all of the fruits now showing.

Thank you so much. I will follow your sage advice. I have three 15 gallon clay pots with a tomato in each, two patio and one celebrity. I had filled each with Miracle-Gro potting mix. I was hoping I would not run into
a problem with diseases but alas no such luck. Being a 22 year old city girl I am not a gardener in any stretch of the imagination. Last year was a disaster and so I am trying the clay pots this year.

All three are loaded with fruit so thankfully I will get all those nice tomatoes. Thanks again for you help.

In the future If you continue to be a vegetable gardener, IMO you should stay away from Miracle Grow and Scotts products altogether. And I think you will find fabric grow bags superior to clay for a number of reasons. If you have any more problems please don't forget this forum.
