Hi,
Today I found a leaf on my ficus plant with some white lines on it:

Any idea what it is and the treatment?
Thank you!

I forgot what this is called. Buy neem oil. You spray it on the leaves. If you can't get to neem oil right away use dish soap and water to spray on the leaves.

What I like to do is spray the leaves with either, take paper towel wipe it off. Then apply again and just let it dry on the plant.

This could be the scratch marks or feeding parks of an insect, but it could also be incidental mechanical damage that may or may not occur again. It possibly could be the work of leaf-miner caterpillars (Microlepidoptera) but usually such damage is more continuous and intricately patterned.

If you could investigate the lines very closely with a hand lens it might be informative. Removing and dissecting the leaf might also answer some questions, but the damage would be much greater than the initial scratches.
