I think I’ve heard you should water strawberries less close to harvest to make them sweeter? I just got my first ripe one so it’s harvest time; I’ve been watering them daily the last week or so because there’s been no rain and high 80s; each evening when I water the ground is already dry again. Should I back off? The strawberry I had seemed plenty sweet.
Also is there a way to make the berries bigger? It seems like a lot will be small.

It doesn't seem very sensible to me to stop watering when the ground is so dry, and if your berries taste ok just keep watering in the same way.
The size of the berries might depend on the variety grown, or how old the plants are. Generally when I worked on a strawberry farm here - many years ago, plants were replaced every three years, and as they became smaller they were sold as ''jammers''
