I'm trying to figure out if this is a tree and if so, what kind? It's growing in a gap between my pool deck and work room. I live in southern Arizona if that info helps any.

looks like morus alba, a mulbery seedling, they could be weedy
I was thinking the same thing; a species of mulberry. It reminded me of a Paper Mulberry, which I had two in my yard, but I cut them down. I had two males, so they didn't produce fruit, all they did is soak up all the nutrients and water from my soil and created too much shade.

Their root system is very invasive and it's common to see suckers pop up everywhere. (Note, the leaves of the young plant don't look anything like the adult plant). https://www.nps.gov/plants/alien/pubs/midatlantic/brpa.htm
