Just a quick update on my ginger plant. It's now about a foot high but looking rather scrawny and the leaves seem to be curling slightly.

It's autumn here so I don't suppose I can expect it to do too much over the next few months, but I'm curious to know during which season ginger flowers.

You'll notice from the photo that the rhizome has pushed out above the level of the soil so it would seem my pot is too small. I suppose the best thing is to repot it in spring when I repot some of my bonsai trees.

Looks good! Pot's a bit small though, doesn't really give it room to multiply so not only will it not thrive for long, it may die if not transplanted soon. If you have harsh winters you may want to keep it indoors near a window. Most plants do their vigorous growing in spring.
