I would like to start off with my disclaimer and greets. I do not know much about plants and I’m trying to change that. I’ve heard good things about this platform so I’m trying it. Hello to everyone this is my first post. My first plant I keep getting this sticky residue. That I don’t know where it’s coming from but it’s definitely hurting the plant. So I need to know why it’s happening and try to stop it. The second (fern) plant keeps getting these white spots on it.

Welcome to the forum! I don't know much about house plants so I might not be much help, but someone will. The plants on the bottom I think have spider mites, those look like webs but hard to tell in those pics. Can you take a macro pic of the white stuff?

I think both of them have mealybugs. A systemic insecticide will kill them. The ones on the Asparagus Fern will be hard to remove once they're dead so it might be best to accept them. Another option for the Asparagus is to treat it with the insecticide, wait a week, remove all of the stems and then put it outside in the shade until new growth starts coming up. Then you can bring it back inside to fill the window again. You can wipe the bugs off the Philodendron with a damp cloth.

I'm gonna try your suggestions. Especially treating it with insecticide and using a damp cloth.

Yep I call those suckers cotton ball bugs ( actually I use a different B word but I’ll be ladylike lol)
I’ve never seen them that bad though. I’ve had a few on succulents and I just dab them with a Qtip dipped in alcohol.
For sure systemic treatment is what you want when they’re that bad.
