Thinking about cleaning the gutters as they need it and looked up to see this plant.

Anyone have an ID?

It is likely a tree IMO, possibly Sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua) which is nearby. Plants that show stamina, toughness, and creativity endear themselves to me. It will be difficult, but I will try to save it.

I found a couple of them on campus today.
This one is a Swamp Cooler Tree. It was recently cut down to allow better airflow so it won’t get mildew.

This one got a little dry during our recent heatwave but it’s cooling down into the 90s so it should recover.
