I have a pink hydrangea which has white oblong markings on the underside of its leaves, a bit like polystyrene. I assume it's some kind of fungus! Does anyone know what it is and how I should treat the shrub to get rid of it? Thanks.

Yes it does Becky. What can be done? Does it mean losing the plant altogether?

Depends on how heavily infested it is - if it's bad then it would probably be worth scrapping the plant unfortunately. If it's not too bad you could try a chemical treatment, but I have no personal experience with it so can't make any recommendations for specific products.
