hello, I’ve had a string of hearts plant for about a month or so now and it’s not dead but the new growth on it seems to be withering and dying, any idea why? Or what I may be doing wrong? I’m careful not to over water and use a well draining potting soil made for house plants and am at a loss. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated

Many possible reasons. Are you using city water. If so there could be chemicals in it. Also let the soil dry out between watering. It is very easy to overwater these plants. They pretty much go dormant during short sun days. They also aren't crazy about cold weather. Be sure it gets plenty of light but no direct sunlight. Keep it away from heating / air conditioning ducts.

The water may be the issue to be honest I’m not sure if it’s city or not, but I know it’s not overwatering. It’s getting plenty of bright light some dappled sun so maybe too much? Maybe I need to move it to a spot with less sun coming in and a lot of light and see if that helps. Thank you!

Plants are now in winter and unless the pot is very dry, don't overdo. Over watering always kill plants in winter. Also, there might be bugs in the soil or lack of nutrients as the plants have been in pots for too long.

How about a photo?

There aren’t any bugs that I’ve seen and I have. Been pretty careful to let it dry before any watering. I will get a before and after pic for reference. The pictures I will post first are before when I first got her.

I saw some growth in two leaves. Sad, but not too bad. New growths are there to be seen.

Maybe I’m just an over worried “parent” and this is normal for the winter time. Hopefully this new growth survives and takes off instead of dying out!
