I moved into a new home and am beginning the process of identifying what's already growing. Note: I am a beginner so sorry for any "obvious" ID'ing questions. Also, my long-term goal is to plant mostly native plants. (I live in southern Connecticut.)

1. I think I know enough to know that this is a dogwood tree, but wasn't sure how difficult it is to further ID the variety:

2. Likewise this maple tree. Can you further ID the species from this pair of photographs:

3. Finally, this one is a relatively small tree planted in the curb cut. It quickly completed its flowering cycle in early May:

Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

I will continue to post a few other trees and shrubs in the coming days.

Happy Spring!
