Growing vegetables in pots.

My advice would be 3-5 gallons at a minimum. I had peppers in 3 gallon pots and the roots were in contact with the sides and damaged from the heat. The plants was still productive, but possibly less than it could have been. I'm also using fabric pots this year to minimize the heat transfer.

Hi! I would say 5 gallon minimum for both.

Look for determinate tomatoes, preferably cherry tomatoes like the Gold Nugget tomato, as they will be more productive. I would amend with compost heavily.

I grow peppers that produce smaller fruits but in greater quantity in containers each year, like Fushimi (shishito type) or some hot peppers. Same thing: get lots of great compost.
