I have a small mango tree that is about 2 months old. I am wondering when should I graft them. Should I wait a year? Does it matter how long I wait?

I have over a dozen over grown mango trees in my garden. Theoretically, I know how to graft a mango tree, however, I have never succeed in grafting. My grafted dies before it grows or few months after I plant the graft. I think it is too early to graft a 2 months old mango tree. You need to wait at least one year so that your plant becomes mature.
