Emergency replant of Giant Elephant Ears

My Dear wife was rocking around in the front garden and presented me with 3 GEE that have a broken tap root where she took them because they had worked up above ground. (clay- I would too, just to breathe) Can I replant? Or better to buy new bulbs?

They are re-emerging from the center. I have been watering heavy in our drought given any feeder root and even main stem root damage. I will fertilize lightly.
