Hi

I’ve noticed that some / most of my privet hedging has started to completely die which I haven’t seen before in the 5 years I have been at my home

I had the tree surgeon here at the weekend and he was saying it could be honey fungal … I’m hoping it’s not that based on what I’ve read(!) and it’s the changing whether of the last year or so that’s causing it . Is anyone else having this issue ?

I took loads of pictures but now sure how to post them on here

Any feedback would be most welcome !

I would cut any dead wood back hard to the main stem or to the ground. Keep all the leaves and debris cleaned up at the base of the trunk. Keep the soil aerated and loose around the base of the privet. You may have to cut the dead back all the way to the ground. Keep us posted.
