I have a question or two about how to direct seed annual wild flowers. We just moved into a new-to-us house that has a flower garden that runs the length of the front yard. I wanted to plant some annual wild flowers. I have read instructions for direct seeding annuals, which in general say to broadcast the seeds with sand and then press them into the soil.
Okay. Well I have about an inch of mulch on top of my flowerbed.
Do I rake off the mulch and broadcast the seeds and then cover again with the mulch?
Do I broadcast on top of the mulch?
What do I do?
