Hi, we moved our established bay free in August 2024 to a new spot in the garden and all looked good. In September of that year the trunk had a split going about half the way up, we covered this by wrapping it with wet hessian and all the leaves turned brown and fell off. There are now a number of suckers and a handful of green leaves on one side of the tree. Is it safe to assume it is dead?
