I picked a 5 gallon bucket of tomatoes, the bucket of peppers looks like maybe 4 gallons. Cherry tomatoes have very good flavor but very slow to pick. There is about 2 more gallons of cherry tomatoes that I am not going to pick. 99 degrees is too hot for bell peppers they stopped growing. Carman peppers like 99 degrees plants grow peppers until frost kills them. Bell pepper plants start growing peppers again in Oct..

Wow, all the fruits looks like they're in great shape! What are the larger tomatoes? Would you care to share pics of your garden?

There’s something I read on apple News a few days ago , I wasn’t aware of
and …..I do it …is grow tomatoes and capsicums ( sweet peppers ) in the same bed ,or area

the article said no ~ don’t ever grow both in the one spot ….or Eggplant either …..Fact or not ???
..I m normally guilty of that due to room issues to do otherwise

I love the… RED … bell capisums marinated in a tiny bit of oil / garlic / salt and pepper / sugar / vinegar .

I side off and burn skins under the griller part of my stove ,peel off blackened skins , and add mix of vinegar
Only about a tablespoon spoon …in total

Nice crop there @gary350

Tomatoes, peppers and eggplant are in the nightshade family. Also potatoes.

It's generally frowned on to grow them together because they're susceptible to the same diseases and pests. Also they fight over nutrients.

I'm not sure that's as big a problem as most think, especially in smaller gardens. Pest and diseases spread more than a few feet easily and it's easier to feed a small area than a bunch of spread out ones.

I have 16 tomato plants in a 25 ft row. I have 16 Carman pepper plants in a 25 ft row. I have 16 tomato plants in another 25 ft row. 32" row spacing. About July 15 stink bugs start multiplying and often kill most of our tomato plants so if I want a big crop of tomatoes I need lots of plants to produce lots of ripe tomatoes in 4 weeks. Most of my tomato plants will probably be dead by Aug 20. Peppers seem to not have much of a problem with stink bugs. I stopped growing squash and cucumbers because they attract stink bugs to our garden several weeks sooner.
