Crocosmia versus iris

I planted 2 red crocosmia a couple of years ago and they’ve been beautiful. This spring, right where I planted the crocosmia, 2 very tall yellow irises appeared (which I didn’t plant)…I don’t know what will happen later in the season when the crocismia ussually come out, but it seems the crocosmia changed to irises!!!!
Has anyone else had this experience or am I just crazy (as my daughter insists!)

I have not heard of Crocosmia changing to iris.
I have planted Crocosmia for yard customers. The Crocosmia did not change to iris.
