Coco Coir and Lavender

I've learned all the info on washing and buffering Coco Coir.
I'm planning on using this in a minor way in potted Lavender. After all, they all say to use a small amount of something. Planting mix, top soil, compost. Along with a majority of perlite, gravel, pumice, clay balls, etc. I am considering going ahead and spraying some liquid compost on my Coco Coir when I buffer. Maybe even some Iron? The compost is because a very experienced lady with Lavender said she always likes to add a little compost to it.

Now the buffering on Coco Coir is because it will suck the sodium and potassium out of your plants. Buffer with calcium and magnesium. This isn't a treatment for plants. It's a treatment for the Coco Coir.

I'm looking to find out if the Lavender isn't affected by any sucking of sodium and potassium out of it?

Surely, in nature, the Lavender must be getting something out of that rocky soil. What is it? Does it get Iron out of that ground? What does it get?

I did a little Meadowlark research on your question and did find mixed results but the one that made the most sense to me was this:

"Lavender is not harmed by sodium or potassium being removed from it — that’s not what coir does. Instead, coir adds these ions, and lavender generally tolerates them. The real risk is salt buildup and calcium imbalance, which you can easily manage with flushing and proper amendments."

That's the first time I have heard that statement? Is it some kind of disinformation source? What amendments?
The sources, which are plenty, all talk about the buffering I mentioned. There are alot of them saying this?
