I can't tell if you mean spiders (which are fine by me) or something man-made?

I think it's maybe a device for zapping mozzies. We have similar fly zappers here in the UK , you see them in bakers shops.... (unless of course they're all closed down, like many small businesses these days)

Spiders. One morning you walk through lots of super strong threads spanning across the walkways and webs everywhere, glistening with dew. Months later they are all gone.
