Boxwoods Not Looking Good

I have had these for three years. I see that they have a lot of brown in them with some green. I water them enough and we have gotten a lot of rain.
Could they be dead or dying?

They're dead. 3 years is too long for a box wood in a pot. I change my soil every year when using containers outdoors. I take the plant out of the pot and gently remove about 40% of the soil and replace the old with new and replant and keep it watered.
