the real tall one is a Goatsbeard. next to the blue spiderworts are two huge ones, a white and a red one.

@MMathis I think if you don't see the buds as shown in the above pic, you might have to wait for another year. I have 3 red stems as shown above, but the foliage is much dark, like a bit brownish. The other one hasn't got any bud stems and I have had them since last summer.

Right now mine are just leafy and not very full. My thought is that they are focusing on putting out roots at this point.

Looking at what people say add to the soil; bone meal is not a general nutrient of the npk type, but it contains plenty of trace elements, and the other thing, leaf mould is the best thing for moisture retention.
