Yup, afraid so. Plus I lived in East Dorset until I was about 8, so wasn't too familiar with that part of the world.

Muskrats? (I wondered too.)

My siblings and I played in a river like that, too. . Floating downstream on inner tubes, catching frogs and playing with angry crayfish... (Sigh.) Those were happy days.

No Muskrats here, water voles or sand martins

We do have American signal crayfish though, escaped from fur farms
