A month ago I bought a big monstera for my living room. However, when she arrived she was protected only by a cardboard box. She's a healthy plant but the trip was really rough on her.
I was wondering if I should cut the leaves that are dying. The problem is that I am not sure how to or if doing so will hurt the plant even more.
What do you thing she has? Should I cut the dying leaves?

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

So you say, the plant arrived like that from a mail-order company? Hmm, that's not good. Perhaps it suffered cold damage during delivery. However there are other possibilities, such as sun scorch, desiccation, over watering or even disease.

Still, the plant looks basically healthy otherwise, and should begin to produce new leaves and stem with proper care.

Do cut off most of the damage, but leave a couple leaves that show only a small amount of damage. Since, the leaves are still mostly green and will help feed the plant. Keep observing the plant to make certain there is no disease issue.

The basic care for Ceriman (Monstera deliciosa) is regular water with good drainage, bright indirect light and occasional application of a complete, liquid fertilizer during active growth.

Just cut out the brown parts and leave as much green tissue as you can. There is no need to remove the entire leaf. It is not a disease or insect problem. It is a shipping problem.
