Planted a bougainvillea the other day - SanDiego red - still looks good.

However, the roots were accidentally disturbed when placing into the planting hole.

Any suggestions to get this plant over it's root shock would be appreciated - hoping this does impact overall plant growth and flowering.

Tell us more about how the roots were disturbed. I know Bougainvillea cultivars can be sensitive to root disturbance, but I also know that they are commonly transplanted with success. If the plant doesn't look stressed yet, it might not be stressed.

In any case, all you can do now is give it the best care. Water the plant appropriately and in a few weeks, and amybe give it a light dose of a complete fertilizer. Not too much, as Bougainvillea growth may slow during Winter. Also, as you may know, applying Vitamin B1 to reduce transplant shock is basically a myth spread by Vitamin B1 salesmen.

That's encouraging to here. After three days, it still looks good - plant still appears turgid and taking up water well.
It came potted in very loose mulch, which essentially fell away from the main stem when taking it out of the pot.
Did not notice and long fibrous roots in the mulch that fell away, so I'm hoping the bougainvillea will do well over the next week.
Probably water it in well again this Wednesday.

Appreciate the advice. :)
