Yellow spot on watermelon

I bought a watermelon that a yellow spot and know the yellow spot is turning green anyone know why?

It could have been picked to early or you have another piece of produce giving off ethylene gas and it's ripening the watermelon.

That was where it sat and now you moved it. Oxygen plays a part in post pick ripening.

It's the same as pumpkins, squash, cucumbers or anything that lays on the ground while getting ripe. It will stay white or yellow on the part that is laying on the ground until it gets some air and light.
