Will my strawberries come back?

I had strawberries in a hanging planter last summer that did very well. However, I left them outside during the cold months. Will they come back? Or should I have brought the plant inside to winter?

Not sure, Molly. I have some strawberry plants that stayed outside all winter, but they were in the ground. They are OK- a few brown leaves, but I am seeing some new growth in the center of the plants also. I just went out to start weeding them yesterday, boy that is a job that will take awhile.
