Hi,

I find white fungus like infection on my ornamental plant stems. It’s spreading to nearby plants quickly as well. can anyone please suggest a fix to get rid of them? Thanks

Note: I am new here, I will check if I can post a pic of the infection.

This is what I think that is - woolly aphids. Unless you get rid of them you will probably lose your plants. If those plants were mine, I would take a small scrubbing brush and some warm water with an alcohol based kitchen cleaner, and scrub them clean - first pruning out and disposing of any particularly bad branches. But act quickly!

Scale I believe
I had a huge amount of this go through my garden box hedges . I used imidacloprid .
2.5 ml per litre . Pour at roots and it will make its way up into the plant . I litre per plant also .
You can give a foliage spray also with imidacloprid to get instant effect . This is a systemic treatment . Definitely works !!

I believe that what you have are mealy bugs and probably another form of scale insect as well. Spray with Neem Oil.

If you squish the white sac and orange liquid comes out definitely scale and also this soft scale produces honeydew ( black soot ) on stems .
