While the husband is away the wife will play... in the garden, of course!

The first of the garden tomatos are turning red. I have a tomato plant on the deck that started ripening tomatos about a month ago, but that is just a tomato here and a tomato there: once the garden tomatos start yielding we should be able to eat our fill of them! Right now we are getting cucumbers, green beans, and now tomatos.

That ought to please the kids, as they have never cared much for cabbages and kale.

Having freshly-picked fruits and vegetables for a meal is the best especially during non-working days! It's fun to grow them and get the satisfying feeling of knowing that those are literally the fruits of your hard work. (It's not that easy to grow them given the presence of pests.)
