That second one reminds me of one of the roses I acquired recently. It's called Frau Karl Drushki. I tasted the petals and they have a lovely, delicate flavor. I've finally found a rose I can use for culinary purposes! I'm still looking for one that forms good hips, but it's all in the journey, right?
I'm still looking for one that forms good hips,
It is a Soni Digital with many features. My camera never lets me down. I am planning on repairing some and digging out some.Wow, what camera did you use to take those shots? Most of the close ups are of an excellent quality, so very clear!!! Just amazing! By the way, beautiful roses, I thought you said you'd dig them and plant something new in an old post?
I have experienced with some and I am hoping I will get to experience that once again.Grouie, our roses went through the same thing two years ago--historic drought here in Texas. I watered enough to keep them alive, but they certainly looked sad. Now they are thriving again and you'd never believe they were ever on the brink of death. Your roses are truly lovely, and I surely hope they perk up soon for you.
The climate where I live is not conducive to roses but with care they can survive - lot of work though and I am ready for it.Love your roses, we had a nasty winter and I lost two of my climbers but I replaced the this past May with the same kind.
Have you had a look at the Rosa Rugosa varieties Chanell? The shrubs grow quite large and throw up suckers but if you can cope with that they will provide you with large hips.![]()
