That is Solomon’s seal just busting out of the ground

I should have known that one - I've grown it myself. I suppose I just haven't bothered to look closely enough with a camera to decipher the new shoots. I must try harder !!

Can you describe these flower heads ? This grass fascinates me!

they feel kind of stiff

The Solomon’s seal in that pic is in a raised bed , it’s easy to be eye level with it .

I hand picked and hauled in every rock , I got them off side of the roads in the hills 20 miles away.
