Cow Parsley, think it's called Queen Anne's Lace on the other side of the pond.


No, they are relatives ;) both in the family Apiaceae (or Umbelliferae,) but Queen Anne's Lace is Daucus carota, and Cow Parsley is Anthriscus sylvestris.

Wikipedia says this about Cow Parsley - "It is also sometimes called mother-die (especially in the UK) " and if anyone could tell me the reason why, I would be eternally grateful. I will also reward you with 1,000 internet points! (Disclaimer - Both of these things are largely useless. :sorry: )

I just found the same link Sheal :D

Seems a good way to keep kids away from plants that might be harmful, hard to tell a juvenile cow parsley from a hemlock :eek:
