This part is called the Marshwwood Vale, mainly sheep/dairy farms.

There is a Manor house in the village of Bettiscombe here that has a skull in it. Legend has it that it's the skull of a slave and that if it's removed from the house, the sound of screaming is heard there

I've met the gardener there and he reckons its much older than that, and that they made the legend up to cover the fact they robbed it from a bronze age burial mound
