This container gardening has been a nice learning tool. Nothing likes a small container. 2 and 3 gallon ones are not doing great. Even though this feeder is over crowded the plants are all growing like mad. Have even been transplanting and pulling out tomatoes because it seems all of them came up.

Very ni e L Garden.
I just saw a repeat of an English cooking show...Mary Berry I think ....and she visited a restaurant in London I think.... where the young chef had the rooftop of the restaurant filled with containers growing all variety of herbs, a great idea....I think;)

the hydrangea continues into August-it's been a wet one so far.

the pool project is moving along
got the berm planted and mulched-along with the stone and rock placement.
the small trees at the back beyond the stone are a standard lilac 'boomerang'
pleased with the pool house finish-ready for paint!
(and pavers around the pool.)

The fuchsia in our front garden always looks beautiful in the summer :)

Beautiful fuscia Becky . I love fuscias, so pretty and complex and individual. I just don't seem to be able to get it right somehow.

This one was only thin spindly branches a short time ago. I just checked thinking it would have curled up its toes but there's new growth. Still it ain't pretty. I don't think pinching will do the trick. In just TOO much shade maybe. I thought I'd moved all of them into a patch of the garden all together, maybe they can encourage each other;) but I obviouly forgot about this one hidden away all on it's own.

I've had mixed results with them, and I think it's down to finding a spot that they like. The one in our front garden gets morning sunshine and has good drainage, and it has done really well - it blooms all summer long. The ones in our back garden don't get much sun and they never do as well.

The impossibly red Hibiscus and the Crepe Myrtle (Lagerstroemia indica) have been the best bloomers in August, and they show no signs of letting up. Crepe Myrtle is not grown here and people have to take a second look to see what this plant is and realize they have not seen it before. But its enthusiasm to grow and bloom is evident. We are in our rainy, stormy season and we've had some forceful storms and squalls (no hurricanes yet) and still they are not daunted. I am so glad i saved the small CM from the former garden. They both make me smile;

Not your usual subjects for this thread, but I'm pleased with these. The banana is Musa Florida. Notice the all white leaf on the pup! Sadly I don't think I will get a harvest from it this year, although it is a short cycle (28 days flower to edible in ideal conditions), it's not reached full height yet.

Also a couple of good size sago's, they look good pretty much all year.
