What type of grass is this?

Hi! I found this beautiful grass in my yard. It sprouts purple flowers! It’s a much deeper green than the other tall fescue grass in my yard (not featured in the attached photos). It gets some sun but is mostly growing in the shade. Any ideas on what it is?

Probably lilyturf, which isn’t a grass and can be quite aggressively spreading. Some love it, some hate it.

Thanks so much! We love it as it’s growing down a big hill that’s hard to mow regularly given how steep it is!

It looks to me more like dwarf mondo grass, which is similar to lily turf but shorter and doesn't flower as readily as lilyturf. Lilyturf gets spikes of white or lavender flowers sporadically. I ve never seen mondo grass flower.
