What tree is this?

The tree is in the North Ga Mountains. It is about 35' tall and rather conical. Leaves are turning red in mid-August. Leaves are alternating. Thanks for the help!

Lense is an app. @alp is a pro that knows the app allows a better focus. As a fieldhand, about all I know how to do is a google image search.

I agree with DirtMechanic, this is Tupelo (Nyssa sylvatica), also known as Black Gum, Sour Gum, or Pepperidge, This deciduous tree is in the Tupelo Family (Nyssaceae) and native to the eastern and central United States, eastern Mexico, and Ontario.
