Good morning,

I have found this on an avocado leaves in NSW 2065, would someone be able to let me know what is it? Please, I would appreciate your advice on whether I should leave it on the leave or remove it. See attached photos.

Thank you in advance!

It looks like something in a chrysalis stage of development, but I don't know what. There doesn't appear to be any leaf damage, so it probably didn't come from something that was eating the plant, but just picked that place to wait its time out. I have found chrysalis on my greenhouse door and other such places, a lot of things seem to like elevating themselves for that period of development.
As for getting rid of it, I think my curiosity would tempt me to pick the leaf and find a big jar to put it in so I could see what emerges. I did that with a lot of chrysalises I found as a kid one winter, and found I had lots of butterflies in my room next Spring, not that this one looks like them at all.
