Thanks Chuck. Those are mites like bugs. Maybe white mites. I had a video but can't upload.
I think those are soil mites. Yup, good for composting :)

Makes sense. I have seen soil mites but not in such numbers before. If it were ant eggs it would seem that there should be some ants around but not a one in sight. And you are right, these things, if the correct species, are very beneficial in a compost pile.
