Were Rich

We get Social Security and I get a pension plus my wife is working.

Our Son and his Friend get Social Security, Medicade,Food Stamps and Food Cards.

He got mad at us and said we were rich. Maybe we are but worked for what we have. We grow most our food. We count on Insurance which we pay. We are conserving Propane until we can lock in at a cheaper price, Plus cut Firewood.

Today couple guys gave us some Fish and we were more than happy with them. They said they offered them to my Son but he didn’t want them because he would have to clean them.

You don't get rich being picky, not even moderately wealthy.

There is more to life than being rich I guess. Life is too short, different generation, different views. We often don't understand the youth and they us, they have an excuse I guess as they still have old age to come!

Both getting Disability our Son because of his back but he does Handyman work with my tools because I have the best but he has Mental issues too.The other one because he is Mentally off.

Had a guy working for me even though he had been in prison for Child Molesting. Very good worker but my Son ran him off.

I was drawing Disability to after I retired found out two companies were not to hire me because of my Leg and I could have got disability on it. Now I’m all messed up but I still want to go. My Doctor told me to quit because I had ongoing problems with my Back I was actually crying because I loved working.

Took a woman to my Moms seen it in her eyes looking at all the nice stuff. I told her not to get too excited it’s all on paper.

Got a 16 year old Granddaughter that dropped out of school, had Jobs but they didn’t last long because she had to work and they was always telling her what to do. Her Boyfriend actually finished High School but has no interest in working. ?????

Got a Son and 3 Grandsons have a business they owe me $8,500 but they don’t have to pay me because I’m family.

Oh could tell you stories on how they feel about me or life but it would take too long.

Guess your 16 year old granddaughter is supplied with everything she needs. Guess her parents completely supply her every need, such as a cell phone, and high-end clothes/ shoes. Shame she dropped out, I actually hated High School myself, but knew I had to stick with it to get a good job after.

Seems like both granddaughter and boyfriend don't have good examples, and or did not develop work ethics some part in their life when younger. Maybe given too much, so they don't have to work for it. Or their value system is on the low side.


Me---I had very little parental support for further education, but somehow recognized that in order to make money I had to get more education. Today they push Trade schools, which is also a good thing lots of good money can be made with a good trade.
I am the only female on both sides of my family to have a college degree and then some. And did it all by myself. Having worked at various Human Service jobs, with continual promotions for 55 years, I am done now and enjoying retirement with husbands hobby, and gardens and discovering local interests and doing nothing if I choose.

I went to trade schools but my parents pulled me out my Senior year because I was messing with an underage girl. I came back and married an underage girl. We was married 11 years.

Our Granddaughter is off limits to us advising because her Father will take care of her. He is the one talked her into dropping out because he only went to 9th grade and knows enough.

The world is small these days, competing for good jobs go to the one with the best skills and assets. Shame her father does not want better for her.

And to think I came from a time. Guy had had his job for years was let go from it because he couldn’t read.
