I'm posting this as it may be of interest to anyone in the same situation.
We've been with Virgin Media since they took over NTL World, 25 years ago. The service has always been good.
My laptop's wi-fi packed up on Friday. When I phoned, I was told they couldn't fix it from their end and I'd need a new hub. They came and fitted it yesterday.
Our "package" includes M125 broadband, Full House TV (XL) That's everything including BT Sport and Eurosport, not Sky Sport. Talk anytime phone, (so my wife can talk to her friends and our family "all day") and we've two Tivo boxes. My monthly charge was always £85.50. This included a "loyalty bonus" of £12.50 per month. This ceases in December. I was happy enough with that, but didn't want to pay any more.
So I phoned Virgin this morning, to find out why, after December, "I'd be considered disloyal."
A young lady went through everything and after fifteen minutes came back to tell me,
"I'm sorry, but there's nothing I can do."
I said, "Then put me through to someone who can."
So she did and I'll now be paying £81.25 a month.
