I'm looking for help identifying this city-planted, curb-cut tree.
I live in Connecticut in zone 7a.
I had been thinking I may have correctly identified it as Shadbush (Amelanchier canadensis), but I never see any of the expected berries on it.
It's currently probably about 12-15 feet tall if that helps with its age.
Thanks for the plant ID help!

Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks like a crab apple tree. If it doesn't have fruit, I'd guess it's a Spring Snow Crab Apple.

I don't think it's Malus (crab apple). Could we have a close up picture of the bark on the trunk please?

Thanks @robrocke. (y)

My apologies to Tjohn. :) I agree with him that it's probably Malus having seen the bark. Although identity is difficult with all the lichen.

Oh! My apologies Tjohn. :) I was assumed to be male as well when I joined the forums.

Thanks for your thoughts everyone. I will try and keep a good eye on the tree for any fruiting this summer/fall. I have casually kept an eye on it over the last couple of years and didn't ever see any fruit. (As for him/her/they, I JUST went to a work seminar on this very issue and it sounds like we should ALL be sharing our "preferred pronouns" these days: with that in mind I'm "He Him His.") Thanks again!
