Sun guage

I am going to be opening a new area for gardening and was wondering if anyone has ever used a sun calculator. I see they have them on Amazon, what are your thoughts?

Not sure about a sun calculator but I do have a light meter that I use on occasion to understand effect of shade cloth and available light in fall when I start using the light in my little green house. Post a link to one.

This is the one I ended up getting. Got bad reviews but it was the only one I could find for what I need.
