My mill near me sells compost, loamy soil, soil and washed sand. Should I mix these to make a great soil and what ratio? Or something else?

Washed sand does not contain nutrients. About all it does is add a little texture to clayish soils. Loamy soil is usually better than a normal topsoil but until either is tested you don't really know what is in either one or what is needed, if anything. From what you have said I would would go with loamy soil and compost at about 70% laomy soil and 30% compost.

Greetings, welcome to the Forums.

Are you trying to amend your native soil, or create an artificial planting mix for a container or raised bed?
