No. But in this post pandemic age you could try something new. Soak them in mild seaweed mix or a weak molasses bath. There are also yeast and lacto- bacillus microbe friendly preparations that some farmers are using to remove (or weaken) the chemical inoculants on the seeds.

Such a disinterest in this post leads me to suppose that it is not a common practice or at least not necessary.

I don't soak mine. I do keep my soil moist so it germinates fairly evenly. Most seed I see has a fungicide on it and that would make for a very messy project.

Can you? Yes. Moonshiners have been known to sprout corn seed in creeks in burlap sacks for other purposes.

The Fungicide is Vitivax very bad stuff. Your seed will do good without it.

The only seed I soak is Cannabis and soak it until it sprouts but seed is $10 - $300 apiece.
