Hi there,

Can anyone tell me whether this Snake Plant looks under- or overwatered? Soil feels dry and I have been watering sparingly or at least I thought so. Thanks!

The best way to find out about this is to remove the plant from the pot and inspect the roots. If there is an over watering problem it will become quite obvious. These plants like to stay fairly dry. You should always let it dry out completely, and check that the compost is gritty enough to drain well. When it becomes completely dry water it thoroughly and let the water run away through the holes in the bottom of the pot. Never let it stand in water. Little and often is the wrong way to water, and leads to a sure death of the plant

It's tough to tell just by description whether your Snake Plant is under- or overwatered. Both can actually cause similar issues, like yellowing or drooping leaves. If the soil feels dry and you've been watering sparingly, it's possible that you're underwatering it. Snake Plants are generally pretty forgiving and can handle a little neglect, but they still need some love. A good rule of thumb is to water when the top inch of soil is dry to the touch.

Since you're into plants, have you ever heard about the Duck Flower? I was reading up on its detoxifying properties, and apparently, there are some potential duck flower detox side effects that are worth considering. It's fascinating how different plants have various effects on us.
