Schedule for taking care of apple trees?

As I've mentioned in another post, I am the proud new owner of two tall and spindly dwarf apple trees. I'm really worried I'm going to miss some vital developmental milestone in their care, having never had apple trees before, and screw up their apple-production ability. For instance, making sure to get buds off so they don't fruit too soon. Are there any lists of approximate dates/months for such things so I know about when to look for them? Is there an almanac or an app for that?
