I've got a solid habbit of planting my green onion tips. They always grow.
Now I've heard that all I have to do is cut them at dirt level and they will grow again?
I know I won't get the bulb. But it's the green part I love to put in my fried taters.
So, what is your opinon?
Trim at dirt level or
Pull them and replant tips with root?

Actually, neither for me....I plant old onion bulbs that have been months in storage and are starting to resprout. They make tremendous green onions.

Cut at dirt level, they will grow back. I did that for years. If heading into winter, I would limit my cutting to ensure the plants would come back in spring.

I would occasionally dig up clumps separate them as well. Eventually I ended up with a few hundred plants from a bunch bought at the grocery store.
