Red tip photinia on property line

I read where a red tip can be 5-8 feet wide. If I planted a row approximately 2 feet from the property line would I be able to control its spread with pruning on one side so it didn't go beyond the property line?

3 or 4 feet would be better. They can get much wider than 5-8’. Hedge trimmersdo a good job of keeping them under control as long as you can trim both sides.
