Radish (Chinese Radish) (Raphanus sativus)

A Chinese friend brought me a new vegetable. It was steam cooked and appears similar to a potato. It will be grown in my garden. The taste is benign, and the root is quite large about 9 inches long and 2.5 inches in diameter.

Daikon Red Radish. Also a good plant to winterkill into your clay to break it up and add organic matter deep. Roots can reach 4 meters. Scavanges nitrogen back to the surface when leached. Good cover crop that you can eat as well. I want some seeds now.
